Reporting

Use Report this tool on any tool page, or ot report <namespace/name>. You don’t need an account. Reasons: malware or suspicious behaviour, a policy violation, impersonation, copyright or license problems, broken or misleading, or something else.

For copyright notices, legal requests, or anything you can’t put in the form, write to abuse@otinstaller.com. Security problems in the registry or ot go to security@otinstaller.com.

What happens next

• First response within 72 hours, and within 24 hours for malware or credible harm. With evidence of malware, any reviewer can remove a version at once; a second reviewer confirms afterwards.
• Actions, from least to most severe: dismiss, ask the author to fix, yank a version, remove a version or the package, suspend the namespace, ban the account.
• Authors are told what was done and why, and can appeal once by replying to that email.

When a removed version is installed

Removed versions stop resolving at once. ot refuses to run them and tells anyone who has one installed how to remove it. Every removal appears on the transparency page with its reason category and date.
